
House
of the Memory of Sefarad, is located in a building dating
from the 14th century in the Jewish Quarter, and recalls
the mark left by the Sephardic culture through its permanent
exhibition and numerous cultural activities which include
meetings, seminars and cultural debates, theatre activities
and a monthly programme of concerts of Sephardic and Andalusi
music.
The permanent exhibition "Memories of Sefarad"
is unique in Andalusia, and is organised in five thematic
rooms: Domestic life, women of Al-Andalus, Festive Cycles,
the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba and Music. The collection
includes liturgical and synagogue objects, musical instruments
and Hannukah lamps from the most important Sephardic communities
in the Mediterranean.
Moreover, Casa de Sefarad also houses a Library-Documentation
Centre, a specialist store, courses in musical and Sephardic
gastronomy, temporary exhibitions, workshops and other group
activities.
