large enclosures with European wolves, Timber wolves, Iberian

innumerable rare plant and animal species.
Many noble Andalusian horses are available for you to ride
in this wonderful landscape, either as a riding tour or

SELWO,
ADVENTURE, NATURE AND ANIMALS
Located in the hills close to the Estepona Mountains, between
Estepona and San Pedro Alcántara, Selwo Adventure
Park aim is to get the tourists of Costa del Sol involved
with the most extraordinary nature without leaving the Area.
To get this purpose it is possible to visit two original
villages inside the park, "Watu" and "Massai"
that recreate the typical wooden African villages and they
offer to the tourists the possibility of living a wild experience
of several days. This thematic park is really amazing, it
is possible to do things that are unthinkable in other parks,
like crossing a lake in a "tirolina" or to get
left behind the hanging bridges. In Selwo the wild animals
live in a freedom way, in harmony with the environment.
They have reproduced the conditions of life of the different
species to simulate their natural habitat insofar as possible.
In the 100 hectares of the park we can contemplate more
than 2.000 animals of more than 200 different species. We
can see the different ecosystems by foot or by four wheel
drive.
Selwo Adventure presents five basic ecosystems, adapted
to the characteristics of the animals and to their daily

The
El Retiro Estate, known originally as the Santo Tomás
del Monte Estate, is not only one of the most important
historical gardens in Malaga, but also in the whole of Spain.
An unquestionably attractive garden ensemble, its origins
date back to a former property in the area owned by the
Bishop of Malaga, documented since 1523, when it was a typical
homestead during the Muslim era, and a fortress-residence
between 1600 and 1603, when the Bishop Tomás de Cózar
commissioned the Grand Master of the Cathedral, Pedro Díaz
de Palacios, to build a watchtower for the defence of the
coastline. The most important stage in its progress towards
becoming the significant historical feature that it is today
was due to the Bishop Friar Alonso de Santo Tomás,
a fascinating figure in the history of Malaga.
You will walk between butterflies, visit aquariums, frog
pools and the reptile area and meet bats and many other
mammals... all gathered in an exceptional place, surrounded

Costa del Sol Racetrack
The Costa del Sol Racetrack is one of the best in Spain.
Apart from the traditional horse racing, there is live
music there on Friday and Saturday nights. The Friday
night jazz sessions begin at 9pm and go on to two in the
morning, and the music on the Saturdays takes place before
the racing, and is varied in style. There are also restaurants
in the complex. Riding classes are given there, along
with advanced riding and show jumping.

Plaza Mayor
The largest leisure park in the Costa del Sol, Plaza Mayor
is just two kilometres away from Málaga Airport and
accessible from all the main roads. There are lots of interesting
places in Plaza Mayor.

Of Benalmádena
One of the most privileged viewpoints on the Costa del Sol,
the summit of mount Calamorro, can be reached by means of
this cable car. At 771 metres above sea level, from this
vantage point and on a clear day we can even see the north
of Africa.
The boarding station can be found in Arroyo de la Miel (Malaga
– Spain), opposite the Tivoli Funfair.
