In
order to ascend to La Torrecilla, Malaga's highest peak,
at 1.919 m., we start at the Cortijo Los Quejigales, which
is accessed from the turnoff at km. 13 of the road from
Ronda to Marbella, then from
here take two turnoff to the left. This is a long excursion,
around eight hours, but easy. You go up through the beautiful
Cañada del Cuerno, through a forest of gall oaks.
From the top, on clear days, you can see the African coast
to the south and Sierra Nevada to the east.
Para
la subida a La Torrecilla, la cumbre más alta de
Málaga con 1.919 m., debemos partir desde el Cortijo
de los Quejigales, al que se accede por el desvío
situado en el km. 13 de la carretera que baja de Ronda
a Marbella. A partir de aquí, hay que tomar dos
bifurcaciones a la izquierda. Es una excursión
larga, de ocho horas, aunque sencilla. Se asciende a través
de la preciosa Cañada del Cuerno, atravesando un
bosque de Quejigos. Desde la cima, en los días
claros, se ve la costa Africana al sur y Sierra Nevada
hacia el este.
